The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day. The program was established under the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946. All CSE families must re-apply annually for free and reduced lunch. The Charter School of Excellence uses PayPams for lunch registration and payments. Learn More about the online application process.
The Charter School of Excellence offers free bustransportation to and from our Davie campus through E2E Transportation.
How the Transportation Program Works

Registration with the Boys & Girls Club is optional,but highly recommended. Families who enroll in the Boys & Girls Club haveaccess to valuable programs and services, including:

Before and After Care is FREE for Students Attending CSE.
The Charter School of Excellence offers a Morning Care Program between 7:30 and 8:15 a.m. to allow parents to drop off their children early. Children are served breakfast and work on their homework in a supervised environment. Students may not be dropped off prior to 7:30 a.m. or until supervision arrives.
The Charter School of Excellence offers an Academic Enrichment Program between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m., which includes an additional hour of instruction in the core content areas followed by a snack, homework help, tutoring and guided academic activities. The snack schedule varies by grade level. Parents may pick up students anytime between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. NOTE: Academic Enrichment is at no cost from 3:00-6:00 p.m. There is a $25 late fee if students are picked up after 6:00 p.m. This fee will be strictly enforced.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of America is dedicated to building great futures for all kids. They offer a wide variety of programs and services for youth. CSE encourages families to consider joining a local Boys and Girls Club. For a $15 annual fee, Boys and Girls Clubs offer:
There are two local Boys and Girls Clubs that are designated bus stops for The Charter School of Excellence free transporation program. Contact the club for more information or to register.
Students entering Kindergarten through Grade 12 are required to have up-to-date immunizations in order to begin school in the 2026-27 school year.
*The fifth dose of DTaP vaccine is not necessary if the fourth dose was administered at age 4 years or older.
**If four or more doses are administered before age 4 years, an additional dose should be administered at age 4 through 6 years and at least six months after the previous dose. A fourth dose is not necessary if the third dose was administered at age 4 years or older and at least six months after the previous dose.
***Varicella vaccine is not required if varicella disease is documented by the health care provider.

Parental involvement is a requirement of admission to the Charter School of Excellence. All families are required to read and sign a Parent Contract.
Each family commits to at least:
20 volunteer hours annually for one child.
30 volunteer hours annually for two or more children.
Volunteer hours can be fulfilled through activities involving:
Education – Donating classroom supplies, supporting and/or assisting with classroom project, and supervising students on field trips.
Administrative Support – Donating supplies and making photocopies.
Committee/Team Support - participating on a Committee or Team.
Any eligible student who submits a timely application and whose parent(s) accept the conditions of the Parent Contract shall be considered eligible to enroll, unless the number of applications exceeds the capacity of a program, class, grade level, or building. Any premature vacancies will be filled the same way.
Students may withdraw from the school and at any time enroll in another public school as determined by school board policy.
Parents will have the right to participate and will be encouraged and expected to get involved in their school, including the governance of their school.
