The Charter School of Excellence in Fort Lauderdale, an A+ accredited public charter school serving grades K-5, was one of the first charter schools to open in Broward County in 1997. It has been ranked as one of the highest performing schools in the district and state. In 2008, it was named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education and has received a state grade of “A” every year. In 2009, it received an EPIC Gold Award from New Leaders for New Schools for outstanding work in helping to raise academic achievement among students.
The school’s success can be attributed to a combination of a superior instructional staff, small class size, and a low student to teacher ratio. In addition, the school demands strong parental and community involvement.
The Charter School of Excellence in Fort Lauderdale is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI)
